Movin' On Down The Road

I know it's been a while since I've blogged, but this time I have a really great excuse: I've been looking for a new place to live!

For the past few months, I've been house-hunting in Sonoma County, and after a hectic but fun search, I've found a lovely home in the small town of Cloverdale (at the northern-most end of the Wine Country). I really fell in love with the landscape of lots of vineyards and wineries nestled up against rolling hills. The above photo shows the scenery that lines the highway driving up to Cloverdale (those are all acres and acres of grapes growing along the valley floor).

This week Katie and I are packing up and moving on down the road to settle into our new house. Here's Katie, patiently waiting for me as I pack up my mini-van with yet another load of stuff:

I'm also excited because I'm going to have a new office, as well as two spacious bedrooms. Boy, am I looking forward to setting out my canvases, threads and projects in a new space! AND, I'm hoping a new space will inspire me to create lots of new designs.

Katie and I are also excited to explore our new neigborhood. We've got lots of new trails to travel, as well as hunting for critters like quail and squirrel. Here's Katie as she spots some squirrels playing in the oak trees, as we walk along the trail:

And while I lug boxes to and fro, Katie is also rearranging her toys in the new house. She's decided to set up a temporary "safe spot" underneath the dining room table, as shown in this picture:

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know what I've been up to instead of stitching this month! I'll be disconnecting my computer this week and probably won't be hooked up again until next week, but I'll be back as soon as I get everything moved in.... As you might imagine, I can't wait to be all settled in and ready to sit down - finally - and start stitching again.

See ya soon, stitchers!

  6. Enjoy your new home! I was in Sonoma last week while on vacation and it truly is beautiful there. If you haven't already seen them, you'll have to take a drive north to the Valley of the Giants to see the massive redwoods! I'll have pics of those up on my blog later today!
